Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® can be used to prevent excess sweating from armpits for six months or more. Neuromodulator injections are highly effective in reducing excessive armpit sweating, also called hyperhidrosis. Business persons, politicians, attorneys, actors and models are some of the most common patients for this type of treatment.
Botox is FDA approved for the treatment of hyperhidrosis for persons 18 years of age or older.
If you are constantly sweating due to stress or anxiety, Botox, or one of the other common neuromodulator injections can greatly reduce or eliminate this issue. Some patients report that they have stopped using antiperspirant, and switched to basic deodorant, permanently after one or more treatments.
The procedure is a quick way to take care of a problem which has plagued some people for years. The whole process takes less than a half-hour.
“We start by finding out where the trouble spots are in each arm pit by applying a small amount of iodine and talcum powder to see where you sweat.” says Kim Borghese, Zenestar’s medical director. “By paying extra attention to the problem areas our patients tend to have outstanding results,” she said.
Regarding the amount of product, “typically 100 units of product is required, 50 units for each armpit,” said Kim. “Patients typically notice results in about two weeks,” she added.
